    After downloading and trying several intall75.img snapshots (including
    the latest) I found the one failing.  The issue starts with *Jun 3*
    snapshot:

    Jun 2 one reboots fine.

    The dmesg output I pasted in my first message is from the install image.
    If you really need the acpidump messages tell me and I'll see to install
