just to be clear...i'm not against the change. i'm sure i;ve made such
changes myself. if all our spelling is one way, then having an instance
of another spelling doesn;t seem helpful.

it's just that the second instance is valid. and if we change it once,
then in theory we are policing that spelling and making sure we don;t
reintroduce it. and... and.. in the end, i'm just not convinced we'd
achieve much.
