That's plausible.

I think it is important to realize that /etc/examples/ isn't a collection
of "examples", so much as it is starting-points that people modify to
get going.

For some subsystems, bgp in particular, the knowledge required to
participate properly is too rich, and since the manual pages comment
on details and pieces rather than practical guidance, examples/bgpd.conf
needs to be a great starting point for copy & edit.

Anytime we see a friction against using it as a starting point, we should
figure out a way to make it better.
