I'm not against this, but since I expect this to be interesting mostly
for portable users, I would consider doing a simple warnx() announcing
the deprecation for a portable release or two, then zap it with the
patch below with the errx changed to "-T is no longer supported" -
deprecated usually means "it still works, but stop relying on it".

Since claudio added the knob, I'd like to wait for his feedback.
