could it be that one of the symptoms would be that sometimes the
trackpad would not work (at boot) and sometimes it would?
(I currently experience that).

Is there anything I can help with?
As with previous issues raised with ACPI (on thinkpad at the time), I
do not understand it, I could investigate and learn at the same time,
where to start?
