smtpd doesn't enforce any path, for it it's just a table like any
other, it's just a convenient path and has a name that 'sticks' :)

and it's pretty common in practice.  pretty sure it's also mentioned
in several tutorials etc.

Not sure what our policy for changelist is, but fwiw since this is a
"de-facto standard" i think it's not a bad idea.
