Also worth noting that wi, (to a cetain degree), and rtw support hostap mode,
which some newer drivers don't, (yet?), support.  So there may be some use
cases where finding a replacement is not quite as straightforward.

(Obviously, running a general purpose access point using such old hardware is
 not going to be much fun, but that doesn't mean that it isn't in use
 somewhere.)
