I love potential performance improvements.
Following your example:
ufs_reddir()
$ time find /home/user >/dev/null
0m46.20s real 0m00.74s user 0m16.24s system (after reboot)
0m15.82s real 0m00.77s user 0m15.08s system
0m15.35s real 0m00.70s user 0m14.67s system
ffs_readdir()
$ time find /home/user >/dev/null
0m39.27s real 0m00.71s user 0m08.37s system (after reboot)
0m05.82s real 0m00.68s user 0m05.17s system
0m05.71s real 0m00.77s user 0m04.97s system
I'll keep it using for a while.
