Gah.... hate to reply to my own post....

The files included contain an omission. I had sent Claudio a corrected
version privately since the post to the list had stalled. Let's just
take this post for comments or discussion. If the idea is accepted,
either Claudio or I can follow up with the corrected diff.

Also, it appears that todays OpenBGPD 9.2 release went the other way,
actively setting FIB update to No on Extended Nexthops. I guess
expected since that matches my luck lately... However, this FIB update
reset can also be made dependent on whether the given OS supports
RFC5549 or not, so I'm gonna keep my hopes up. Either way, it worked
out well for me. If anyone wants to play around with this, I can
provide the corrected diff.
