From: Alfredo Ortega Subject: Re: AI-Driven Security Enhancements for OpenBSD Kernel To: Florian Obser Cc: tech@openbsd.org Date: Tue, 11 Jun 2024 12:14:59 -0300 Not a legal expert by any means, but for this particular case I'm using the API of OpenAI that grants ownership and responsibility of all generated code to the user, that is myself. And because this code is not completely AI generated as it required a prompt, integration, review and pruning, it should be protected by copyright law, that is,the user (me) also has the copyright of the generated code. I should be able to license this code under BSD. BTW I'm not yet proposing those particular patches to the kernel as they are somewhat experimental (but anybody is free to use them), but may do in the future with a more mature version.
