I would argue that blatently mis-representing what somebody else posted two hours earlier is not helpful. In any case, the weak point of your proposal has been highlighted, and I've already supplied code a few months ago to address that. You have all the ingredients necessary to remove encrypted vnd support and not prejudice users who use it on a read-only volume. All that's left would be to commit my diff or a variation of it without crediting me in the cvs log, (following the established precedence for doing that), tell me that my opinion counts for nothing, and voila! Problem solved.
