From: "Heppler, J. Scott" Subject: Realtek RTL8821CE on Motherboards with wifi To: tech@openbsd.org Cc: Kevin Lo Date: Sun, 16 Nov 2025 02:15:03 -0800 Just a heads up. On the US market, it is getting hard to find newer generation motherboards without integrated wifi. Mother board manufacturer's are also not forth coming on the wifi chips they solder in place. On a budget build ASrock B450m/AC r2.0, Linux shows the chip to be an unsupported rtl8821ce. If support is easy to add, it would be worthwhile as it is likely to be applied as widely Realtek NIC chips. If it's difficult to add, OpenBSD users should avoid paying any premium for an unsupported feature. Thanks for your work in this area. -- J. Scott Heppler
