It is probably better, if possible, to be consistent between the ”verb before object” modal editors, which it is for line mode, as far as I can see. I use vi or nvi for sysop things, vis (vise in OpenBSD) for programming and vim or nvim(neovim) for text editing (since i need spell checking).
