Hi Mark,

Jonathan pointed out that this effectively reverts your changes to preserve
the firmware console layout and use the sparc64 colormap helper.

Do you have any feedback on using the common KMS console path here? It gives
me a working console on the XVR-100. Is there anything those changes were
preserving that we need to retain?

Jonathan also suggested keeping the background clearing as a separate patch.
