I committed a patch to add just that link to the page to save us from
having to explain this to people who no longer know what shar(1) is.

Whether it is still true that the list server explicitely allows shar(1)
files is another matter; millert@ is likely best positioned to get to
the bottom of that.

Whether it still makes sense in 2025 to go out of our way to provide
support for patches in shar(1) format is yet another matter.
Most definitely, sending shar(1) files around for any purpose
should be strongly discouraged by now.

I did not add man(1) links to words like tar(1) to keep the patch
focussed on one purpose.  Linking to tar(1) would not be wrong,
maybe even helpful for extreme newbies, so if someone wants to do
that, go ahead.
